Colonel Danny Bubp the Marine Corps Officer that Jean hides behind violated military law. He actively campaigned for Jean Schimdt in uniform. This is a violation of DoD directive 1344.10, If I as an Enlisted Corporal would do the same against Republicans, my leadership would have taken me too task for it. Why the double standard? Where is the outrage from the media? I can only imagine what Fox news would say if a Marine campaigned against the President in Uniform. If you live in Ohio I encourage you to write you newspaper to ask for the double standard to end. No Active or Reserve military personal should use their uniform to campaign for Democrats or Republicans!

Schmidt, who sent Murtha a note of apology on Friday moments after her speech, said in a statement Tuesday that she never intended to attack Murtha personally.
"While I strongly disagree with his policy, neither Representative Bubp nor I ever wished to attack Congressman Murtha," she said. "I only take exception to his policy position."
Bubp said in a statement of his own Tuesday that his conversation with Schmidt "was based strictly on the proposal to immediately withdraw our troops from Iraq and the consequences of such a proposal."
Schmidt declined during an interview on Cincinnati radio station WLW to discuss her fellow Republican's denial: "I was repeating words. I am not going to get into that debate."
Neither Schmidt nor Bubp returned calls left at their offices Tuesday.

This article on Jean "I haven't a CLUE what I'm doing" Schmidt has just hit a NEW rock bottom with some of these new choice quotes/statements. I mean, we all know she's an arrogant, ignorant fool who neither understands House decorum nor recognizes her grave mistake, but these revelations about her in this new WaPo article are breathtaking...
Rep. Jean Schmidt (R-Ohip) is in deep political trouble because she called Rep. John Murtha (D-Pennsylvania) a coward. And the progressive blogosphere has played a part in ensuring that she is held accountable for her remarks.
Both major Cincy papers came out with editorials condemning Jean Schmidt's cheap shot against John Murtha. The Post was particularly harsh, while the Enquirer, as expected from the more conservative paper, was a bit more guarded.
It seems that on further reflection Ohio state rep. Danny Bubp doesn't want to be lynched on the same tree as his (former?) partner-in-shame US. Rep. Jean (I stole the election from a real war hero) Schmidt. Schmidt, most notable for stealing jump-suits from Mary Lou Retton, displayed the balls we all suspected she had last Friday by taking the stump during the Republican's Cut & Run proposal. Using the clever "I didn't say this but a real US Marine did" technique, she called our most distinquished Democratic hawk a "coward". It was obvious that just about the entire assembly shit their pants that moment but the US Marine in question apparently has had a delayed-reaction bowel movement and is now disowning Mrs. Schmidt's meaning if not his words.
On the floor of the United States House of Representatives last Friday, Rep. Jean Scmidt said, "A few minutes ago I received a call from Colonel Danny Bubp, Ohio Representative from the 88th district in the House of Representatives. He asked me to send Congress a message: Stay the course. He also asked me to send Congressman Murtha a message, that cowards cut and run, Marines never do."
The New York Times is reporting that Danny Bubp is stating that Jean Schmidt misrepresented the nature of their conversation.
While Mr. Bubp, a Republican member of the Ohio House of Representatives, opposes a quick withdrawal for forces, "he did not mention Congressman Murtha by name nor did he mean to disparage Congressman Murtha," said Karen Tabor, his spokeswoman. "He feels as though the words that Congresswoman Schmidt chose did not represent their conversation."
Asked to respond on Monday, the congresswoman's office said only, "Mrs. Schmidt's statement was never meant to disparage Congressman Murtha."
Really hillarious top story on the local Cincinnati news today about Schmidt and the firestorm. Includes a great quote from the county GOP chair and includes the Saturday Night Live spoof. The video is at:
Rush has Jean Schmitt's favorite REMF as " a Marine on the ground in Iraq"
Is it any wonder that Dittoheads that worship this junkie coward are so ill informed... I can't wait to see how this part gets spread around Faux et al.
PS. Rush if your supersized junkie ass shows up at Joe Buck's golf Tourney in St. Louis next year we have plans to "punkie the Junkie" till you just can't punk him no more..... We hope to get a hold of "Baby Boy Blunt" and break him in two and beat you over the head with him.... Don't say we didn't warn you remember "alls fair in love and war"
PPS. Rush I don't care how much money you make ($285 Million) you are still a junkie Hoosier from Cape'. Oh yeea..... Cape G. the asshole of the Confederate powerbase that currently mismanages the great State of Missouri... (Hoosier in Missouri is slang for a particular breed of degenerate, inbred Rednecks)
Since the run up to the War in Iraq, right-wing conservatives have sought to use a new McCarthyism to silence debate on the most important issues faced by the United States. Leaders who challenge the flawed policies of the administration are labeled as cowards or as unpatriotic sympathizers with terrorists. Operation Yellow Feather is a grass roots effort to tell Republican "chicken hawks" that we will not tolerate their "Red Scare" tactics.
Last week, Rep. John Murtha (D-Pennsylvania) stated his public position that the U.S. troops in Iraq should be redeployed outside Iraq in a manner consistent with their own safety. Rep. Murtha is a brave and distinguished man. He left college to enlist in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. He gave lengthy service as a Marine, rising through the ranks to become a Colonel. He again volunteered for service in Vietnam. He was a decorated veteran, receiving the Bronze Star for Combat, two Purple Hearts, the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry, and the Navy Distinguished Service Medal.
After the amazing attack on Rep. Murtha by Jean Schmidt on the floor of the House on Friday, I wanted to find out more about Danny Bubp, the Marine and Ohio State House member, who Rep. Schmidt said called her and asked her to say that "cowards cut and run."
There have been some very good diaries about this issue already posted, but there is one issue that has confused me. I went and visited Danny Bubp's official page at the Ohio State House website as well as his bio from his campaign site.
Great piece in the National Journal on the torture as a tool for extracting information. As entertaining as 24 might be, real life is a bit more complicated.
Max Blumenthal looks into Colonel Danny Bubp -- the man who Mean Jean quoted calling Rep. Murtha a coward. Try not to be too surprised when you learn Bubp is a right-wing operative.
Think Progress catches the latest fear mongering from Cheney. Turns out if the US withdraws, Osama Bin Laden gets crowned president of Iraq. Oh, and they catch Novak doing some serious lying.
Sirota thinks Fitzgerald might be circling around Rice.
Judith Miller gets a seven-figure severance package from the NYT. It's never been more profitable to be a lying shill for the US government in an American newsroom.
Chuck Todd wonders why Richardson doesn't get more respect as a potential anti-Hillary, and thinks he'll be a top-tier candidate. Now if only the National Journal would create permalinks for Todd I'd be more likely to link to him more.
I like to think that there are things that are beyond the pale even for the most whacked of Repub wingers. Well, I'm beginning to wonder if that's still true after looking for any sign that Ohio state rep Danny Bubp has had the decency to apologize for his cheap shot against Jack Murtha. Yeah, yeah, Jean Schmidt actually delivered it, but he is the one responsible.
And what have I found. Nothing, nada, zip, zero, bupkis resembling an apology. Kossacks, it's time to attack.
While there are justly calls for Jean Schmidt to apologize to Jack Murtha for her outrageous cheap shot against him on Friday, little attention (at least as far as I can tell) has been paid to the other player in this--Ohio state representative Danny Bubp.
Bubp, for those who don't know, had Schmidt send a message to Murtha--"cowards cut and run, Marines never do." As far as I know, there have been no calls for this guy--a Marine reservist whose service record is a joke compared to that of Murtha--to apologize. The obvious course is to email him, but it's time to send some love to the Ohio State House Repub leadership as well.
First of all, I would like to offer my sincere condolences on your short career in the U.S. House of Representatives. It is quite unfortunate that, as the newest member of the House, you were the one who drew the short straw and had to get up and say the "C" word in your party's effort to undercut the proposal of Rep. John Murtha.
I realize that according to party strategy, the only way you could have any chance to regain control of the issue of the Iraq war was to characterize Murtha's proposal as weak and irresponsible. This meant restating his proposal to make it sound like something you could call "cut and run," and labeling a distinguished 30-year member of the House of Representatives as a coward. Sorry that you were the one who had to sacrifice your career to do it!
I think we need to let her and Danny Bubp know this sort of behavior is no longer tolerated and that people who behave this way will be held accountable.
Not only to Ohio, but to the Republican party. Can you imagine to their surprise, "that woman" (I like repeating what Chris Matthews on Hardball called her. He said it with such disdain) being so obvious and transparent with her accusations, slirs and statements? We all know they like to TRY to be a little more slick, underhanded, backstabbing than that. You know, like now filing an ethics investigation on Rep. Murtha. Oh no, wait, that's still a bit too obvious. OK, the Republicans have lost their touch.
